The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, took the stage at the D23 EXPO 2015 and looked out on an audience of 7,500 eager Disney fans. Expectations have been high since the acquisition of the Star Wars franchise and the upcoming release of the newest addition to the saga from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars – Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Iger broke the news to the captive crowd that not only will fans be able to watch new Star Wars movies, they’ll soon be able to walk around inside the story with brand new Star Wars Theme Parks on the way.
Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., will soon be the home of the new Star Wars Theme Parks where Star Wars comes to life around you. The upcoming Star Wars Theme Parks will be Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever at 14-acres each.

The Star Wars Theme Parks will contain attractions via adventures of which fans can embark on and experience first hand. Appearing in the parks will be characters, stories, and imagery from 6 previously released movies as well as expanding into the up-coming releases of the Star Wars franchise. A few of the Star Wars Theme Parks’ signature attractions include taking control of the Millennium Falcon on a secret mission, visiting a never-before-seen planet, and experiencing the seedy business culture of a remote trading port.
